Advent Wreath

This is the first Advent that we are doing the Advent wreath tradition in our house.

Yesterday marked the first Sunday of Advent. I think it's a great way to stay focused and keep your kids focused on the CHRIST in Christmas.

Wanna do one with your family?

Here's a helpful website that explains it and provides the prayers you say each night as you light the candles.

Happy Advent to all!

Hey, sorry, me again.

Yes! I want to do an Advent next year for sure with our family. I'll check out the site.

Have you heard of a Jesse Tree? Is that a "Catholic thing"? I'm seeing some online and want to explore it more. It'd be fun to make this ornaments over the course of the coming year.

Also, I remember coming over to your site last year and thinking ME just grew up so quickly, seemingly overnight. Now I am going through the same thing...Neil's so big and not an itsy baby anymore. WAAAH!!! How does it go by so fast?!

Wisdom From the Pope

Pope John Paul ended his address, saying: "In spite of divisions among Christians, 'all those justified by faith through baptism are incorporated into Christ...brothers and sisters in the Lord.'"
