Silly Girl!

I love when Hattie wakes up from a nap. She is usually in such a silly mood and is SO happy to see me. She greets me as if she hasn't seen me in ages. She makes Mama feel very popular :0)! She does the same thing in the morning, too, but Hattie is a bit of an early riser, and there is no way that I can get it together at six in the morning to find the camera and operate it, so I decided to bring the camera in when I heard her babbling away in her crib after waking from her nap. This was the silly girl I found:

I attempted to take a picture of her tooth that popped through last week. The other one on the bottom is about to pop through, too. I don't know if you'll be able to see it, but I did the best I could. It's such a cute little toofie!

Picnic at the Park

One of the Stay at Home Moms Groups that I joined here had an Easter egg hunt and picnic at a nearby park this weekend; Sean and I had fun chatting with other parents and Hattie had fun watching all the other babies go on the Easter egg hunt(we sat it out with the other non-walkers), and of course she enjoyed spending time outside in the grass, trying to eat it. She doesn't like mashed up banana, but she'll eat grass - go figure!

Hattie enjoying lunch with Mama...

and chillin' with Daddy!

The highlight of the afternoon was when we got all of the babies together for pictures....

Hattie even made a new friend, it seems.....

but then I think all of the noise from the parents and babies started to worry or bother her because this is the look she started giving.....

I think I have given Sean this very look a time or two, so I can vouch that it ain't a happy face. :0)

We all had so much fun with the babies!

First Day of Spring

Since it's officially the first day of spring, here are some recent pictures of Hattie in her very first bathing suit and matching flip-flops. I bought them a few weeks ago and couldn't resist posting these pictures of her in them. We also bought her a little pool, but we haven't had the chance to put her in it yet (still too cold here, I think, but I can't wait until it's warm enough!).

Also, now that she's crawling, she's also starting to show her will. She fights us now when we change her diaper or her clothes. It's such an ordeal!! Gosh, I miss the days when she laid there limp while I changed her! That time is nevermore! She's a stinker and is constantly on the move! She doesn't want to stop for anything. She is a ball of energy! This is probably why I go to bed at 9 pm these days!!!

Milestones

Not only is Hattie cutting her two bottom teeth, but (more importantly) she almost has enough hair for me to put a bow in it!!!!! Her hair grows at a turtle's pace, but I think a few more patient months of hair growing, and the bow might actually have enough hair to cling to to stay on her head. Mommy is SO excited!!

Mommy is not so excited about the teething milestone anymore, though. Teething equals cranky, and fussy, and not wanting to nap much for Hattie. I will be glad to get a break from teething! Luckily both teeth broke through earlier this week so I think most of the pain is over because she is in a much better mood :0)!

8 Months Old!

Hattie turned 8 months old on Sunday. I'm a bit behind in my posting because on Sunday she also got a terrible stomach virus - what a way to celebrate! I was "baptized" into motherhood Sunday at church when she threw-up all over me during mass. She has been one sick little baby with a high fever of up to 102 and no kind of appetite at all. The stomach virus is still lingering in our house as Hattie is not 100% well yet, and I am starting to feel "under the weather." Luckily Sean has felt well so far (I probably just jinxed it, though).

Our little 8 month old darling is growing so fast! Hattie has been "army crawling" for a couple of weeks now and is just starting to get up on her hands and knees to do the real thing. She doesn't get very far before she reverts back to the army crawl, but each day she crawls a little farther. She also has her pincer now, too, though she probably only gets the veggie puffs into her mouth 30% of the time right now. Hattie also has a new favorite pass-time - the game peek-a-boo!

Here are some recent pictures I took while playing one form of peek-a-boo with her...(I say one form because she enjoys several forms - Mommy covering Hattie's eyes, using a blanket to cover Hattie, sneaking up on Hattie, Mommy covering her own eyes, ect...we've played a lot of this game lately!)

Mommy sneaks up on Hattie....

Peek-a-boo, I see you!

I wanted to play some more, but now that she's mobile, she's always on the go trying to find something new to get into!

I have learned very quickly that I can put a thousand baby-friendly toys around her on the floor, but if there's one dangerous object in her visibility, she wants to play with it....so we are currently in baby-proofing mode!

I also just wanted to add this picture that I took at the end of Feb. It's my favorite right now because it features my two loves!

Wisdom From the Pope

“The inalienable dignity of every human being and the rights which flow from that dignity - in the first place the right to life and the defense of life - are at the heart of the church's message." Pope John Paul ended his address, saying: "In spite of divisions among Christians, 'all those justified by faith through baptism are incorporated into Christ...brothers and sisters in the Lord.'" Pope John Paul 2
