One of the moms in my storytime group told me about this great park about five minutes from where we live, so this afternoon I took Hattie to the park for the first time. She loved every second of it! Of course everytime Hattie does something new, the camera is right there to capture it, so here are some of the pictures I took of her at the park this afternoon.
First, we visited the swings. She LOVED Mama pushing her back and forth and laughed every time the swing came forward towards me.
Then I put her in the stroller and we went to the pond to feed the ducks, pigeons, and birds that looked like seagulls....I don't know what they were, but they were mean and selfish with the bread.
Hattie loved watching all of the birds.
While we were watching "the birdies" as I called them, Hattie started screaming with delight. I don't know if she was trying to get their attention or just having a good time and not afraid to show it. It was cute, though.
I have a feeling we'll be going back to the park pretty soon ;0).

Thou shalt not lie...
A Priest told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."
The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17.
Every hand went up.
The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Spring is Coming!!!
We are getting a taste of the weather to come, and it is GOOD! I am SO SICK of the cold. I am SO EXCITED about the warm weather and sunshine and afternoons spent outside and at the pool. We've been enjoying the nice weather the past couple of days, and I've been enjoying dressing Hattie in her Spring outfits that have been patiently hanging in her closet.
I don't know if Hattie is enjoying the weather, though....
She seems to be concerned about something...
so Daddy comes to the rescue...
and saves the day once again!!
SHE IS SUCH A DADDY'S GIRL!!!

Our Weekend in H-town
Since Sean had Presidents' Day off yesterday, we decided to go to Houston this past weekend to see our family who we miss so much. Here are some pictures from our weekend:
Hattie with her Aunt Brittany
Some of us at my parent's house before going to my Granny's 87th birthday party
Hattie with Popo and her cuz, Garrett
Hattie with Mimi
Hattie with her cuz, Maggie
The last night we stayed in Houston we spent it at Sean's brother's house. Walker and Missy have three beautiful babies, ages 3, 2, and 1, with another due in April. Needless to say there wasn't a lot of sleep that went on that night, but we had so much fun. Here are some pictures of the morning after we stayed with them. Everyone looks a little tired, but we had so much fun with all of the kids and hanging out with their parents.
Hattie didn't have a dull moment all weekend. She really enjoyed all of the love and attention she got. She had a blast, and Sean and I just love seeing her interact with everyone, especially all of her cousins.

Out with the old...In with the new (well older that is)
Well...since Daddy takes the train to work every morning, his beautiful pick up truck just wasn't being utlitized enough to justify its high price tag....so Daddy just sold his all-American state of the art beauty for...
a new car!!! Well...actually an 18 year old used Honda Civic with 180,000 miles! Keep your fingers crossed! Actually we've known a lot of people who've had similar cars that have gone well over 500,000 miles with proper maintenance. Plus, not having two car payments is a glorious feeling.

Gotta Admit...It's Funny
Walking across a bridge, I saw a man on the edge, about to jump.
I ran over and said: “Stop. Don’t do it.”
“Why not?” he asked.
“Well, there’s so much to live for!”
“Like what?”
“Are you religious?”
He said: “Yes.”
I said: “Me too. Are you Christian or Buddhist?”
“Christian.”
“Me, too. Are you Catholic or Protestant?”
“Protestant.”
“Me, too. Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?”
“Baptist.”
“Me, too. Are you Baptist Church of God or Church of the Lord?”
“Baptist Church of God.”
“Me, too. Are you original Baptist Church of God, or Reformed Baptist Church of God?” “Reformed Baptist Church of God.”
“Me, too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?”
He said: “Reformation of 1915.”
I said: “Die, heretic scum,” and pushed him off.

Hattie is 7 months old!
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of their little angel who fills their lives with so much joy every day! From the smiles and laughs to the frowns and pouts, we feel so blessed that God has given us sweet Hattie Ruth. She's a little demanding and stinky at times, but our cup truely runneth over! Children are such a blessing from the Lord!
One of my favorite aspects of Hattie is that she is so excited about anything we do with her because everything is so new and fresh. There really is something about experiencing life through a child's eyes, especially when it's your own child.
Well, this post is definitely on the sentimental side! Maybe it's because Hattie is napping right now ;0)! I just can't believe how fast she's growing. I want to capture every second, so I never forget what my sweet baby and our blossoming, young family was like!

Wisdom From the Pope
“The inalienable dignity of every human being and the rights which flow from that dignity - in the first place the right to life and the defense of life - are at the heart of the church's message." Pope John Paul ended his address, saying: "In spite of divisions among Christians, 'all those justified by faith through baptism are incorporated into Christ...brothers and sisters in the Lord.'" Pope John Paul 2
